Why should I join the Alumni Association?
Student Life Membership is an opportunity for current U.Va. students to support the valuable programs and services provided by the Alumni Association and enjoy free membership privileges before graduating.
Members receive discounts to vendors (such as the University Bookstores and Kaplan) and events around Grounds as well as exclusive special event invitations, privileges and promotional offers.
Student Life Membership is free for students. During your time on Grounds, you pay nothing and receive great benefits. Payments will begin after graduation, and an easy installment plan is available. First-year payment is only $25. Once you are fully paid – $450 on the installment plan – you are a member for life.
Heading to graduate school? Payments will be deferred. Change your mind at graduation? You may change or cancel your membership status at any time.
How do I join, and how much are dues?
Joining is easy. Click here to download the application or stop by Alumni Hall, located across from Memorial Gym (211 Emmet St.). We are also present at events throughout the year, including Class Council and Trustee dinners, Taste of Charlottesville and First-Year Food Fest.
Payments will begin after graduation, and an easy installment plan is available. A paid-in-full membership is $350 (savings of $50); the installment plan (which begins after graduation) is $450.

What does the Alumni Association do?
Since 1838, The University of Virginia Alumni Association has provided the margin of excellence that defines the student experience and distinguishes Virginia as one of the leading academic institutions in the nation. It supports programs for alumni and students and serves as a connection to U.Va.
Services and programs include the Admission Liaison Program, Reunions, career counseling, alumni interest groups, the Virginia Magazine, class councils and scholarships and grants.

If I’m in graduate school, do I still have to pay?
Payment is delayed for students enrolled full-time in graduate school. Please notify the Alumni Association of your status, either by e-mail or by letter. In your correspondence, please indicate your expected completion dates.
How do I cancel my membership, and is there a cancellation fee?
If necessary, you can cancel your membership at any time. There is no cancellation fee. Please inform the Association, either by e-mail or letter of your request to cancel.
How can the Alumni Association help me in the future?
The Alumni Association will keep you connected with the University. Membership dues support numerous programs and projects, including the Virginia Magazine, HoosOnline Community, Reunions and other events.
Members also receive numerous discounts, including on fees for career services.
