What is the TJ Society?
- The most significant aspect of the 5oth Reunion is the class' induction into the Thomas Jefferson Society of Alumni (TJ Society).
- The TJ Society is a society for all those who have graduated 50 or more years ago from the University.
- The 50th reunion year class is formally inducted into the TJ Society by the University president during the Tuesday evening dinner and ceremony during the 50th Reunion.
- After being inducted into the TJ Society, you are invited back to the TJ Reunion every year.
- The TJ Society holds the TJ Reunion on the same days as the 50th Reunion—the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Final Exercises. This means that the Classes of 1959 and prior will also be present May 10-12, 2010 and taking part in many of the same reunion activities.
- Mr. John P. Ackerly III (CLAS 1957) is current president of the TJ Society. Dr. N. Thomas Connally, Jr. (CLAS 1958) is current vice president.
- This is the official insignia of the TJ Society:
